A practical qualification checklist for outbound meetings

Booking a meeting is the beginning of qualification, not the end of it. Leaders who run outbound well agree on a short checklist so every meeting handed to a rep is judged the same way.

Questions worth answering early1. Is there a business problem the prospect owns, in their own words?

2. Can we tie that problem to a measurable outcome?

3. Do we know who decides, and who influences the decision?

4. Is there a reason to act in the next quarter?

5. Does the account match the profile we sell to best?

Why value-based thinking helpsValue-based selling starts from the buyer's outcome rather than your feature list. Applied to outbound, it means the first conversation is about the problem and its cost, which makes a meeting far more useful to both sides.

Use this checklist as a starting point and adapt it to your own sales process. The goal is a shared definition, not a rigid script.
